The Beauty of Simplicity
Introducing Bergen, where purity of light and material shapes globally inspired residences with neighborhood authenticity.
Nestled into a serene tree lined street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, Bergen features 105 residences inspired by a fundamental way of living that celebrates the imperfect qualities of life. Designed by creative leaders Frida Escobedo, Workstead, DXA Studio, and Patrick Cullina, Bergen softens the boundaries of city living through the layering of dynamic architecture and an abundance of considered greenspace.
Composed from handmade geometric modules, the facade elegantly weaves light, shadow and air throughout the home, revealing crafted finishes and celebrating the natural environment. With a highly curated collection of 14,513 SF of indoor and 11,943 SF of outdoor amenities, focused on community, health, wellness, and the arts, Bergen provides a universal sense of belonging. Envisioned to establish roots and connection, it’s a place of refuge built to grow, age, and last with intention.
Bergen is a testament to the beauty of simplicity.
Highlights
Taller Frida Escobedo
Architectural Design
Frida established her eponymous studio, Taller Frida Escobedo, in Mexico City in 2006. The studio’s reputation, initially built on the strength of a series of competition-winning projects, has achieved global scope since 2018, when she received the prestigious appointment to design the Serpentine Pavilion in London, and most recently awarded to design the new Modern and Contemporary Wing of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
Workstead
Interior Design
Workstead is a multidisciplinary studio celebrated by the AD100 as a global leader in design, creating one-of-a-kind buildings and interiors that are comprehensive in vision and exacting in detail. Workstead employs a disciplined design process that melds precedent, modern form, and honest construction. Representing both familiarity and reinvention, their work resonates with audiences for years to come.
DXA Studio & Patrick Cullina
Master Planning & Landscape Design
DXA Studio is a New York City-based architecture firm whose work masterfully and consistently strikes a balance between seemingly opposing forces.
